Today is "Special Driver" Day
On the way in to work today, I stopped at a traffic light in Markham. It's rainy today, so traffic had been a bit slow . . . clearly too slow for some drivers. Here's someone who is so special that they can choose to ignore the line of traffic already occupying the left-turn lane and start a brand new one:

Isn't that special?
Of course, it's a "fine German sports convertible". But I didn't really need to say that, did I?

Former CBC host Alan MacPhee wrote in his biography about driving an old car with the sole goal of exacting punishment on such drivers by applying the rules of the road strictly. His greatest day, apparently, was striking one and glacing into another such moron who were both in the wrong, this allowing their insurances to repair his car to a better position than it was when he started his morning drive to work.
I've often dreamed about customizing an old armoured car (military, not bank-style) for just such activities.
A VW "Thing" is what the task demands.
