QotD: Canadian Mind Police
Why is it that some people don't understand that being Canadian doesn't automatically mean you think a certain way, that you hate all the right people, that you hold all the "proper" attitudes? It appeared to be incomprehensible to the dispatcher that someone might object to the use of public property to convey a message they found repugnant. The "freedom" my learned civil servant was referring to was, I think, not freedom of speech, but the freedom to agree with her.

You failed to mention that his underlying premise was ill-considered and in breach of free speech itself.
For those who may be interested, Alan and Occam continue this discussion in the comments at

"You failed to mention that his underlying premise was ill-considered and in breach of free speech itself."
Your bare assertions need some clothing. I posit that it is not appropriate to use public property as a prop for expressing political opinion. That, as you have clearly failed to understand,is somewhat different than speaking one's mind, waving a placard, etc.
I would counsel you to smack that bee in your bonnet, Alan, but I'm afraid it might lead to even further impairment of your reasoning.
That's not a bonnet; it's a hive!
