Happy Dominion Canada Day

30Selkirk_Red Ensign.jpg

Finally got the Red Ensign up in front of the house. Just took a bit longer than I'd planned (like too many other projects around the house, now that I think about it).

Very nice! What type of shrubs are those in the front? Block out the prying eye nicely. Posted by: Da Wife at July 1, 2007 11:03 PM
They're mostly Currant bushes. They were even taller just before this photo was taken . . . tall enough to hide behind without crouching. In front of them, they're mostly cedars. Posted by: Nicholas at July 1, 2007 11:23 PM
From where did you obtain the Ensign? I have a smaller one myself, but it is of somewhat poor quality. Posted by: Jon at July 1, 2007 11:56 PM
It is, I must admit, not of the highest quality either. It's an eBay purchase from http://stores.ebay.com/WORLDCOLORS. For more permanent display, I still plan on getting a more sturdy version. Posted by: Nicholas at July 2, 2007 12:08 AM
Today's editorial cartoon in the Toronto Star really hit home: http://www.thestar.com/images/assets/245636_4.JPG! Posted by: Nicholas at July 2, 2007 01:26 PM
Yowzer! Mrs. Swanson there in the cartoon is pretty hot! Très MILFoir! One does notice, by the way, the subtle dig in the name "Swanson," does one not? It surprises me that anyone at The Scar is that clever. Posted by: Jon at July 3, 2007 10:24 AM
