For those of you who think the past was black and white
Radley Balko posted a random link to vintage colour photos of US cities. Some lovely photos in the collection . . . the past was more colourful than we tend to think.

Those pictures are amazing! I must point out though that even though there are plenty of window sills, towers, statues, etc., there seems to be a complete lack of pigeons. I guess pigeons must be a relatively new invention, when colour pictures were more widely available.
Lileks is going to wet himself over these.
